Too Busy for My Spiritual Autobiography?

I have a new job, and I have my hands full. What do we do when our lives become too busy for our story? My spiritual autobiography once had a voice, but today it’s on the back burner. I believe our spiritual memoir unfolds regardless of whether we dedicate time to sharing it. But, with just a small moment here and there, we can make sure we share our unfolding story and give it a voice.
I’m trying to find space to share my story. This is just time that I am using to write something for my blog. I’m trying to grab the little moments and use them wisely. I can’t let my story become silent. I can give up completely on the opportunity to share. I refuse to become too busy for my spiritual autobiography.
Today’s blog is a challenge for us all to find space to share our stories. Maybe you won’t share here at Journey on Canvas blog, but I challenge you to share somewhere. If you scrapbook your story, add a page to one of your albums this week. If you write, write a page for the chapter you are working on. If you tell your spiritual autobiography through art, start a piece of work even if it doesn’t begin to get finished. Share somewhere today. Share somewhere this week. Whatever you do, don’t be too busy for your spiritual autobiography.

Tears for Dancing, Age 42
The older I get the less I think about what I can get out of this life. Bad things happen here on Earth and no one is immune. I see my parents suffering, I watch terrible things happen to my friends and I see catastrophic events that create hell on Earth. Revelation 21:4 promises that someday God will wipe every tear from our eyes and the old order of things will pass away. I’m beginning to think that this promise isn’t so far away: it’s just waiting for us at the next stop. Maybe when we die we trade our tears for dancing and enter Heaven. Until then, I'm going to paint, I'm going to write, and I'm going to share when I find hope in this life. That's why I'm here at Journey on Canvas.
