Discovering the Divine in the Infant of Prague: A Journey of Faith

Beginning the Infant of Prague Spiritual Journey

It was an ordinary day at an estate sale when I stumbled upon a statue that captured my attention. This wasn't just any statue; it marked the beginning of a journey. I recognized its religious significance, reminiscent of the serene figures that adorned St. Augustine’s Church. These were the same statues that held me spellbound during Friday masses attended with my elementary school classmates.

Childhood Influences on the Infant of Prague Spiritual Journey

During my childhood, the beauty of the church's sacred art, much like through the "Infant of Prague Spiritual Journey," played a crucial role in this spiritual awakening. The statues, murals, and stained-glass windows weren't just art; they were gateways to understanding more about my spirituality.

The Surprise Revelation and Continued Journey

Researching the statue was a pivotal moment in this "Infant of Prague Spiritual Journey." Learning that it represented Jesus as a child was enlightening, connecting me deeply with the spiritual path I was on. This statue symbolized the miraculous nature of God incarnate.

Creating a Space for Contemplation and Wonder

In my home, the journey took on a physical dimension. I created a special space for this representation of Jesus. This was about embodying the divine mystery in my everyday surroundings, offering a silent invitation to reflect on the spiritual essence it represented.

An Invitation to Seek and Discover

The partially visible “Infant of Prague” is an intentional aspect of this journey. It's meant to spark curiosity, inviting others to embark on their own journey. My hope is that this statue encourages questions, seeking, and a deeper contemplation of the divine. By sharing this personal discovery, my wish is to inspire others to explore their faith and the mysteries it holds. May this story encourage a journey of spiritual discovery, similar to the one that this sacred statue has sparked in me. Click here to read a book about the creative journey. Tears for Dancing, Age 42

The older I get the less I think about what I can get out of this life. Bad things happen here on Earth and no one is immune. I see my parents suffering, I watch terrible things happen to my friends and I see catastrophic events that create hell on Earth. Revelation 21:4 promises that someday God will wipe every tear from our eyes and the old order of things will pass away. I’m beginning to think that this promise isn’t so far away: it’s just waiting for us at the next stop. Maybe when we die we trade our tears for dancing and enter Heaven. Until then, I'm going to paint, I'm going to write, and I'm going to share when I find hope in this life. That's why I'm here at Journey on Canvas.
