I like to go back. I like to remember. When I come back to today, I share what I remember. But, the best part is when people join in and make “remembering” a conversation. What do you remember? How can you connect your memories to your journey today? I remember the peacock feathers. As a child, they were a source of total fascination for me. I loved to touch them and play with them. I am now drawn to them when I see them. A simple peacock feather can spark memories that bring me all the way back to being a toddler. It is amazing that something so basic can take me places I haven't been for 45 years. Consider going back. When you return, we’d love to hear about your trip. What memories take you places you haven’t been for a long, long time? Share with us here at Journey on Canvas. We’d like to remember with you. You can be a part of the conversation.

tears for dancing

Tears for Dancing, Age 42

The older I get the less I think about what I can get out of this life. Bad things happen here on Earth and no one is immune. I see my parents suffering, I watch terrible things happen to my friends and I see catastrophic events that create hell on Earth. Revelation 21:4 promises that someday God will wipe every tear from our eyes and the old order of things will pass away. I’m beginning to think that this promise isn’t so far away: it’s just waiting for us at the next stop. Maybe when we die we trade our tears for dancing and enter Heaven. Until then, I'm going to paint, I'm going to write, and I'm going to share when I find hope in this life. That's why I'm here at Journey on Canvas.
